About CEREC Restorations
No longer do you have to endure the hassle and inconvenience of multiple dental appointments to get your needed work done. With the technologically-advanced CEREC machine, a number of restorations can be created and installed in only one visit as you sit right in the dentist’s chair! CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) uses the power of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM). Bedford, TX cosmetic dentist, Dr. Scott Staffel, uses CEREC for same-day restorations like crowns, bridges, veneers, and more to save his patients time. The CEREC machine digitally scans the mouth without the need for uncomfortable, messy impressions and can then create customized restorations, which can be placed immediately.

I was pleasantly surprised by the work and very happy with the final result. Great office, dentist and staff."- A.R. / RevenueWell / Feb 22, 2019

What to Expect
Depending on the type of restoration and number needed, CEREC same-day restorations can take an hour or less for a single crown or a few hours for multiple crowns, bridges, and veneers. To begin, a special digital camera scans the entire mouth to capture every angle. The images are used to create a 3D model of the restoration with CEREC’s CAD technology. Once the restoration is designed, it will be milled using the CAM technology from ceramic while the patient waits. After completion, the dentist will place and adjust the restoration for a comfortable and secure fit and feel before the patient leaves.
With proper at-home oral care and regular visits to the dentist for cleanings and exams, a CEREC restoration can last 7 – 15 years. To prolong the life of the restoration, the dentist may suggest a night guard to further protect the veneer, crown, or bridge from wear and tear caused by teeth grinding. The dentist will check the restoration at all of the patient’s future appointments and determine whether or not the restoration needs to be repaired or replaced.
CEREC dental restorations, when deemed medically necessary like for crowns and bridges, are usually covered at least in part by dental insurance. Restorations that are considered cosmetic (veneers) are typically not covered by insurance. Our office will determine each patient’s insurance coverage and out-of-pocket expenses prior to treatment. We accept many payment methods, and can also help patients with financing options.
