About All-on-4 Dentures
In Bedford, TX, cosmetic dentist, Dr. Scott Staffel, offers All-On-4 implant dentures to patients with missing teeth. This unique treatment is great for patients with healthy jawbones, who are tired of dealing with removable dentures and all of their associated problems. All-On-4 implant dentures can successfully restore a patient’s smile to leave him or her feeling confident. The process involves Dr. Staffel surgically implanting 4 titanium dental implants in the patient’s upper and/or lower arch. During the healing process, implants will become integrated into the jawbone. Once the implants are secure, customized dentures will be placed to provide a natural-looking and long-lasting solution. Patients will be able to speak, eat, and smile freely without the worry of slipping dentures.

What to Expect
Before placing All-On-4 dentures, the dentist will use digital X-rays, CT scans, and/or physical impressions of the mouth that will be used to customize the dentures for a proper fit. Depending on the patient, general or local anesthesia will be administered prior to the surgery. The dentist will then surgically implant the anchors in the upper and/or lower jawbone. It will take several months before the implants fuse securely with the jawbone. In the meantime, you will be given temporary dentures to wear as your permanent dentures are customized and your implants integrate into the bone. Once the implants are securely fused with the jawbone, the dentist will attach the permanent dentures to the implants and adjust for a comfortable and natural-looking fit.
Treatment Aftercare
Once the permanent dentures are in place, the patient will have several check-ups over the following few weeks and months to perfect the fit of the dentures. All-On-4 implant dentures should be cared for just like natural teeth with daily brushing, flossing, and rinsing with mouthwash. The patient should continue to visit the dentist for professional cleanings and dental exams to monitor and prolong the life of the dentures. With proper care, All-On-4 implant dentures can last 5 – 10 years with outstanding results.
